Oscar Torres Joins The Canadian Colombian Children’s Organization Board of Directors

The Firm is thrilled to congratulate Assurance and Advisory Partner Oscar Torres, CPA, CA, LPA on his recent appointment as a Member of the Board of Directors of The Canadian Colombian Children’s Organization (CCCO). As a Member of the Board, Oscar will provide leadership and guidance to the organization. Oscar’s involvement with the CCCO has steadily grown in recent years including personal engagement and corporate sponsorships. This involvement, along with his professional skills as a CPA and his passion for helping others learn, makes him a natural fit to help lead the CCCO. As a first-generation immigrant who came from Colombia himself, Oscar is excited to be in a position to give back to children in his home country by formally joining the CCCO’s Board of Directors.

The Canadian Colombian Children’s Organization was founded in 1991 by a small group of Colombian women who were concerned by the dire situation of displaced children in Colombia. Starting with events and raising funds for various charities in Colombia, the fundraising activities grew, and the CCCO received charitable status in 2005. The organization currently sponsors four schools of children in need and, along with their volunteers, sponsors and donors, gives children at these schools the tools to succeed – education and values – and avoid the common pitfalls of violence and poverty.

Please join us in congratulating Oscar for being named to the Board of Directors for this inspiring organization. To learn more about the CCCO or get involved for their upcoming 30th Anniversary Legacy Gala, visit their website.
