Corporate Authorization
There is a new process for authorizing representatives for your Businesses with CRA – below are some helpful links as well as a video on how to add Bateman MacKay as an authorized representative on your account.
What is an authorized representative?
By providing Bateman MacKay LLP access as an authorized representative with CRA, this allows us to deal with the CRA on your behalf – which can include:
- Accessing CRA correspondence and notices of assessment
- Submitting responses to CRA letters
- Review and transfers of account balances
- Filing reassessments/returns
- Asking queries about tax filings/payments
- Discussing tax matters with agents
- Download slips into tax preparation software (if applicable)
- And more
How to add a Corporate Authorization
Step 1:
You will need to ensure your corporation(s) and personal profiles are set up with My Business Account.
Step 2:
Once you are set up, you can follow this step-by-step video on how to add an authorized representative. Simply add Bateman MacKay LLP using our business number 838189066.
Personal Authorization
How to add a Personal Authorization
The simplest method is to authorize us through your CRA My Account:
- Log into your CRA My Account
- Click “Profile”
- Under Authorized Representative(s), click “Add”
- Click “Start”, then enter our business number 838189066
- Select Level 2 authorization (full access)
- Review and Confirm

Adding a Company to a CRA My Business Account
How to add a Company to your MyBusinessAccount
- Log into MyBusinessAccount (MBA) the same way you usually would for your other company(ies)
- If you have not already registered for MBA, please click this link and follow the prompts
- It is recommended to have a copy of your most recent personal tax return, and the incorporation documents handy
- Once logged into your MyBusinessAccount – click Profile (briefcase in the top blue bar)
- In your profile, about half-way down the right hand side, click Add a Business Number
- Follow the prompts to add your Business Name to your profile
Switching Between Companies
- When the company has been added/linked to your account you will be able to toggle between companies (a drop-down menu) through the Overview page
