Graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Accounting degree from Brock University, Krista solidified her foundational knowledge in accounting. Her academic achievements laid the groundwork for her career, culminating in earning the prestigious Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2014. Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to professional development, Krista further advanced her expertise by completing the Level III In-Depth Taxation Course through CPA Canada in 2018. This dedication to staying at the forefront of tax compliance and legislation has been a hallmark of her career, with a recent focus on achieving the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation to further specialize in trust and estate planning.

Krista’s tenure at Bateman MacKay LLP spans over seven years, during which she has progressed through increasingly significant roles. Beginning her journey with the firm in January 2017 as a Tax Manager, she quickly distinguished herself through her innovative approach to tax management and client service. This led to her promotion to Senior Tax Manager in January 2022, a role in which she continued to excel by driving forward the firm’s tax strategies and enhancing its reputation for excellence. In January 2024, Krista assumed the position of Tax Principal, marking a new chapter in her career with expanded responsibilities in strategic planning and restructuring services.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Krista finds personal joy and rejuvenation in travel and quality time spent with family and friends. Her personal interests not only provide her with a well-rounded perspective on life but also fuel her passion for her work, enriching her approach to advising clients and navigating the complexities of tax legislation.
