John Doma, FCPA, FCA
John is Managing Partner at Bateman MacKay. His tenacity to help clients grow their business is what drives his work. John brings with him over 30 years as an Assurance Partner from the private enterprise accounting sector. His astuteness to mitigating risk; as well as early detection of issues, has helped him become decisive and client focused, resulting in highly curated solutions.
John has assisted clients in negotiating tax effective solutions on strategic acquisitions and divestitures of business involving share and asset transactions. During periods of growth, clients often require assistance with challenges involving cash flow. John works with clients in preparing proposals for financing and preparation of cash flow projections.
A key component of seamless succession planning involves the future needs of clients, specifically tax and cash flow implications. John also helps clients evaluate decisions around transferring the business to the next generation.
John explains that he customizes solutions only by listening and collaborating with the client. In this way, he develops appropriate and meaningful recommendations to preserve and grow business assets:
“Each family business is unique. It is my job to understand the needs of the business and family. Getting to know the clients personal needs and wishes helps me to develop the most appropriate recommendations to protect the family and the business’s net worth.”
John’s expertise also extends to planning for real estate transactions with an emphasis on tax minimization. He has published a chapter in the publication “Tax Strategies for the Owner Manager”.
