Jacob began his accounting career with the Bateman MacKay team in 2015. Prior to his current CPA studies, Jacob attended Western University where he earned a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) with a Specialization in Accounting.

Jacob’s responsibilities include providing audit, review and notice to reader financial statements and the preparation of corporate income tax returns. He has experience in all four of the current accounting standards in Canada, which he applies in a variety of engagements across numerous industries. Jacob also prepares personal income tax returns and works with owner-operated businesses to assist with their bookkeeping, compilation, and corporate tax needs.

Prior to joining Bateman MacKay, Jacob gained valuable experience working as the Governance Officer with Western University’s Student Council. In this role, Jacob managed a team that was responsible for the development of the organization’s bylaws, policies, and procedures as well as overseeing student government operations. His first exposure to the accounting industry was as a Finance and Accounting Intern for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, where he learned the true value of teamwork. Not being one to shy away from new challenges or opportunities to help his team, Jacob even stepped in to serve as the Hamilton Tiger Cats team Mascot when called upon on one occasion!

Jacob is an active member in the Jewish Community, volunteering his time outside of work on a variety of community projects. He also has a passion for politics and is involved in various multi-partisan initiatives. In his personal life, Jacob enjoys sports, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
