On July 13th, the Federal Government announced an extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) to December 2020. The program, which provides eligible employers with amounts equal to 75% of employees’ remuneration paid, up to a maximum of $847 per week per employee, began in March 2020.  The program was originally set to expire on June 6th and was provided an initial extension to August 29th.  Specific dates, eligibility criteria and other details for the December extension have not been announced.  However, eligibility for previous periods have required a minimum 15-30% year-over-year revenue reduction within a four week period.  More information on the CEWS extension is expected shortly.
